STEP 1: OBSERVATION
The first step in NICA's business coaching and mentoring program is that your Regional Director will draw on his/her business experience, and gain insight in to yours to allow you to see more clearly what to do and where to focus.
Coaches assist the Director in identifying priority areas requiring the most urgent attention. Through discussions and on-site visitations by your coach, tools are implemented to being the process of strategizing.
STEP 2: ASSESSMENT
Coaches use specific examples from observation to frame discussions around the Director's strengths or challenges, and to start discussion with Directors about reflecting on their own practice.
You and your team will develop skills and tools in a variety of areas that your NICA professional knows are essential to grow your company.
STEP 3: SUPPORT
During a feedback session, the coach provides supportive feedback first, before reflecting with the Director on challenges. Encouraging the Director's reflection during a feedback session helps Directors think about their business practices and interactions with parents, staff, and children. Feedback helps Directors to become more engaged in the collaborative process.
STEP 4: ACTION
The director and coach jointly develops an action plan based on specific information from observations and assessment. The plan includes clear, attainable goals, and has a focus on specific strategies or practices to reach those goals.
The coach helps the director develop as a professional so that they can grow their business.
